  8. Emirates Final interview - here the recruiter will go through your CV in fine detail, and asks you CV questions. The recruiter will also ask you situational and behavioural questions.

We will now go through each of the above steps in more detail.

  1. Attending the Emirates Open Day

Check where the venue is, and research this well before the day. You will be asked to register online for the date you wish to attend.
Dress the part. Creating the first impression is so important. You only get one chance to make a good first impression. Showing up in business attire is a must.
Ladies should wear a knee length skirt, skin coloured stockings, a light or white buttoned shirt and a jacket or blazer.
Ensure you put on sufficient makeup and your hair and nails are perfect.
Guys should always go for a business suit with a collared shirt and tie, polished shoes and neatly groomed hair. No beard please and a clearly shaven face.

  2. Company Introduction
You will next attend the Emirates airline presentation, they will tell you more about Emirates, the destinations, expansion plans and life of the Emirates cabin crew and living in Dubai. The perks and holidays will also be discussed.

  3. CV drop-off at the open day
Do ensure you have a CV updated and designed to match your skills and experience to the cabin crew role at Emirates. Candidates will be called by name in small groups. They will ask you questions on your job experience. E.g. “Are you currently working?” If you are shortlisted, you will go back to the room.

  4. Group Activity - Picture round
The recruiter will place a set of pictures (face down) and your group will have to pick a picture and you will be asked to create a story collaborating as a group. On the back of the picture card, there will be questions to guide you to create a story.
    Some pictures will include:
    - Cabin crew helping passengers with their carry-on luggage.
    - Couple with child taking a selfie with the cabin crew member.
    - A couple being served by the cabin crew.

The questions at the back of the card could be:
    - Who could these people be?
    - What are they doing?
    - As cabin crew, what would you do or how you would interact?

While you are discussing, the recruiters won; be observing and hearing everyone’s interpersonal skills - your soft skills and body language will be looked at.

Look friendly, positive and confident. Please ensure you are not completely quiet, participate where you need to but also listen to others’ opinions, project your voice and watch your body language.

  5. Height and reach test

  6. Second group activity
You would have to choose one customer to sit in an empty seat on the emergency row. Who would you choose and why? Options include an injured athlete, a frequent flyer, a first time flyer, a nursing mother, an unaccompanied child and an Emirates staff member.

Try to listen to others viewpoints , participate in the conversation, speak succinctly, and don’t impose your views on others. Remember there is no right or wrong answer, they are checking the way you interact,. come to a compromise and solve the problem as a team.

  7. English teat online

  8. Final Interview (One on one)
This can be done either online with the recruiters in Dubai or with the recruiters that are at the venue. Situational and behavioural questions are often asked, please prepare your answers well using the STAR approach.
