Tips for the Etihad Group assessment day
Here we give you tips on how to perform well at the Etihad cabin crew assessment day.
Have the CV written in such a way that you evidence the skills required by Etihad. When I say evidence your skills, I really mean to back it up with one or two lines of what you performed at work to enable you to acquire those skills. There is no need on your Etihad CV to go into great detail as you have the interview to do just that. At this CV stage, you just need to show them evidence in a line or two that you clearly have evidence of the skills that Etihad recruiters are looking for. This will enable you to get shortlisted and be invited for the Etihad Cabin Crew Assessment Day. If you have trouble writing a CV to meet Etihad cabin crew requirements, we can help you with it.
What about my photos to accompany my CV? Make sure you are standing against a plain white background and you are posed as suggested in their recruitment portal. If you have difficulty getting a white background, take them in a normal conservative light background, and we can help you edit it to a white background for you. You need both formals and casual photos.
Should I state on my CV that I am fully vaccinated against COVID? It is nice to state that if you have been fully vaccinated as it gives you an extra easy score. In any case, just for your info, you will have to be fully vaccinated before you are allowed to work at Etihad. Yes it is compulsory as so many countries still require proof of the vaccination or you simply cannot fly.
You are now shortlisted and received an invitation to the assessment day in your chosen city. Prepare well, rehearse in front of the mirror, get your business attire ready for the day, ensure you have all the documents that they require. It will be a very long day so bring snacks and water. On the day, be your best self and smile. Your body language is so important.
When the assessment day starts, the Etihad recruiters will introduce themselves and explain to all how the assessment day works. Thereafter they will give a short presentation about the assessment day time of events and a day in the life of an Etihad cabin crew and the Abu Dhabi HQ.
The first stage of the Etihad Assessment Day is the CV drop. You give the recruiters your Etihad prepared CV and the documents requested. You will then be asked a few questions about your CV. It is like a chat but remember it is not a chat and they are there to see if you are team and culture fit and this is an opportunity for you to be confident and sell yourself.
Then, there is the height check. After that you pick a card which will have random topics on them. You are asked to talk about a topic for a minute or two.
Next, they check for tattoos. Remember you must be clear of any tattoos regardless of how small they are. You cannot hide with make-up or with a watch. If discovered when working for them, you will be dismissed.
After your CV drop, you are likely to do the English test.
Assuming you have made these rounds, the next round is the group assessment. You pick a piece of paper. One person in the group will thread the instructions. You will be given a crisis scenario and there Is often a priority list that you need to manage, and who you would decide as a group to leave out and why. The group leader will present the group’s answer to the recruiters.
If you made it through the group assessment, you have reached the final interview.
The final interview can either make or break your chance of getting to be an Etihad cabin crew. If you have made it this far, this means the recruiters see that you do have potential to be cabin crew material. So stay positive, stay confident, do not stutter and think before you answer the recruiters questions.
More often than not the Etihad recruiter questions will be on exceptional customer service, disagreement with a co-worker or why do you want to be a cabin crew and why Etihad cabin crew.
Prepare answers and good examples (always!) to ensure you score well and come across in a confident manner.
