When will Emirates start recruiting new cabin crew again?
This has to be one of the most popular and regularly googled questions that I come across.
The three ME3 big airlines in the middle east, namely Emirates, Etihad and Qatar are all keen to get the market share as the world recovers slowly from the Delta variant and we are now starting to see many countries reopening their borders to tourists. Many countries are improving their vaccination rates and each day more and more people are being vaccinated.
Vaccination is our only way out of this pandemic and crisis. If people do not get vaccinated, the pandemic will just continue and the virus starts mutating again and again, and we get even more variants emerging. Those who are against the COVID vaccine will themselves be infected with new variants and spread it to their loved ones and children. Eventually the pandemic will only affect the unvaccinated people. In fact, the trend is already showing signs that those admitted to hospital are largely the unvaccinated people.
We are pleased that vaccination rates are up either through education or via mandatory means. We all want normality and aviation to return. We all miss travel and love to see the world again.
Most airlines now require all their cabin crew and pilots to be vaccinated and it is going in that direction. Fully vaccinated travel is likely to be the norm in future years as more airlines are introducing vaccinated flights.
Early this week, Qatar Airways reopen their doors and have just started what will be a massive cabin crew recruitment covering many countries and continents around the world. This is very positive as vaccination rates are improving across the world.
What about Emirates and Etihad? Well, watch this space. Every airline wants a good share of the revenue and it won’t be long before Emirates and Etihad reopen their doors.
In the meanwhile, please start your preparations now. When Emirates and Etihad return to hire new cabin crew for 2021 which can happen in weeks from now, it is going to be very competitive and demand will be very high.
